CHARITY EVENT
We volunteered at a Best Buddies event at Harvard Stadium.
Best Buddies is the world’s largest organization dedicated to ending the social, physical and economic isolation of the 200 million people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Their programs empower the special abilities of people with IDD by helping them form meaningful friendships with their peers, secure successful jobs, live independently, improve public speaking, self-advocacy and communication skills, and feel valued by society.
This was great experience for us as a team to be helping at their biggest event of the year. We prepared all the locker room necessities for Friday night’s football event, starring the Buddies and none other than Tom Brady, along with other past and present Patriot players. Brady is extremely active with the Best Buddies Organization!
We also helped prepare and set up for their gala event that evening. The Best Buddies Football Challenge and Gala kicked off the 20th Annual Best Buddies Bike Challenge. We felt fortunate and blessed to be part of this amazing organization. A big thank you goes to Krista Thurstone for organizing and letting us be part this great charity!
