After receiving a finance degree and working several years in the retirement income planning field, Derek Gregoire co-founded SHP Financial in 2003 with the mission of providing independent and innovative financial strategies for retirees and pre-retirees, as well as providing customer service above and beyond industry expectations.
Derek is insurance licensed and holds his Series 65 securities license, which allows him to provide financial and investment advice, as well as personally manage investment portfolios. As a fiduciary advisor, he is required to avoid conflicts of interest, operate with full transparency and always do what is in the best interest of his clients. Derek and his partners chose to be independent wealth advisors so they wouldn’t be limited in the tools and strategies they could provide to create the best possible retirement plans. He works with his clients to create holistic retirement plans that focus on five key areas of retirement: income planning, investment management, tax optimization planning, health and long-term care planning and estate planning. His trademarked planning process is called the SHP Retirement Road Map®.
Derek was recognized by Boston magazine as one of their “Top Wealth Advisors” in February 2010 for his skills, abilities and sound retirement planning strategies.
For the past eight years, Derek has hosted the popular “SHP Retirement Road Map Radio Show,” which airs on WBZ, WRKO and WXTK each weekend. He has also been seen on local network affiliates of NBC, CBS, ABC and FOX and featured in national publications including Kiplinger, Forbes, The Wall Street Journal, USA Today and Newsweek.
Derek is a published author, having co-written the books “SHP Retirement Road Map: Your Map to Financial Freedom” and “Victory: Winning in Health, Wealth & Success.”1
Derek graduated cum laude from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a degree in finance. He’s active in the local community, working with organizations such as the Plymouth Council on Aging, Cranberry Hospice/Jordan Health Systems and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. He is devoted to his Christian faith, loves playing and watching sports and has a new-found love of golf. Derek currently resides in Lakeville, Massachusetts, with his wife and two boys.
